Devona in Traveler's Vale? - Guild Wars Forums

I was running around in the traveler's vale doing some yak's bend quests, when right as I'm about to exit the vale and enter the ascalon area (the one full of hydras), out comes Devona.

She proceeds to run past me and just start charging any hostile foe she encounters. I tried to follow, mainly out of curiosity, but soon died (I had just started yak's bend and wasn't very prepared). So unfortunately, I don't know where she ended up. She hasn't reappeared since.

Anyone have any idea what she's doing? I don't have any quests related to her, so seeing her pop out of the "zone transfer area" or whatever was quite a surprise. I hadn't heard anything about her since pre-searing, so this was definitely odd.

So no one else has had this occur? Strange. Perhaps it was a bug or something? I really wish I could have followed her farther. From the way she was taking I don't think she was headed to Yak's Bend.

I had this occur as well - can't remember where it was but was wandering around and she just ran straight past with nary a hello...

No wonder she's called rude

so Devona do what Prince Rurikin (bad spelling?) and just ran up to any monster to see who die faster?

I can see Devona's name from the gate @ travelers vale / Ascalon Foothills. Also i see a green dot on the map inside the Ascalon Foothills area. Then when i cross into Ascalon Foothills from Travelers Vale the name dissapears and so does the dot where she is supposed to be standing. If you stand on the Yacks Bend side (travelers) and look at the gate (ascalon foothills) Holding ALT-key, you can see the name Devona and a dot where she would be. She dissapears when i enter Ascalon Foothills.

My only guess, like Cynn and menhlo she is supposed to follow you and help you like a free NPC just like cynn joins you to find Menhlo. If you Dont take Cynn to Menhlo she keeps helping you and is a great powerfull el/mo to have with you.

But this being my 3rd time through the game, i cant find devona, or get to her. Even though i can see her name from Travelers Vale.

I know we run in to her in the crystal desert, outside of Augury,but hadn't heard of this sighting until now. Hmmmmmm.

Actually, certain classes can get a quest from her outside Yaks. You have to go 'rescue' mhenlo.

Ive bumped into Cyn and Merhellio guy in the shiverpeaks area. Was very funny because you lead here back to Merhellio and she lays into him like a women would about leaving here alone lol

I had this happen to me twice so far. if you do teh quest about clearing the path (not sure of the naem, but it leads you to the next town) the quest updates once you reacch the top of the hill, the 2 times that i turned back without heading into the town at the bottom of the hill, she came thru into the area i was in and started killing stuff.

I stayed with her for about 20 minutes. she killed everything that was left between where she came from and the top of the hill. Then kinda just stood near the top of the hill for about 5 minutes. Then she ran back to the ascalon area she came from. i followed her into it the first time, but she dissapeared after i loaded. The 2nd time i just watch her (holding alt) and she went up to where she just sits over there. If you go to that port and hold alt, you can see her on the radar as mentioned above.

I don't think that this is right, as I have done this quest. You meet Cynn and Mhenlo on this quest, not Devona. Monks do a quest with her outside Serenity Temple.

I've seen something like this. Instead of Devona its hydras that like to cross into other instances and run around. I was running to Yaks Bend with my 3rd charr and when I'm almost at the portal for ascalon foothills out came 3 hydras. I hid and watch them run passed and continue on down the path. I seem to run into hydras at the strangest places. I found some south of the breach. A lot around Nolani, a group north east of Elona walking around with the sand drakes, and a group running around flame temple corridor. The Hydras love to explore it looks like. I really like that the monsters can pass through instances. Its pretty suprising when your a level 7 in ascalon fighting level 3 stone eles and see 3 level 11 hydras running by.

I have had the same experience as m0o. You can see Devona on the other side, but one you pass through she is not there. Will have to take a screen print and submit it to ANet
